SYLVAIN BESSON

Director of the Nicéphore Niépce Museum's collections since 2008, Sylvain Besson is in charge of about thirty collections, including those of Jean-Christian Bourcart, Peter Knapp, Jean Moral and Jean-Pierre Sudre. While ensuring the conservation and development of the museum's collections, which contain more than four million phototypes covering all fields of photography, from Niépce's invention in 1827 to the latest digital advances, Sylvain Besson is the curator of numerous exhibitions and the main speaker in the "Management of Photographic Collections" training course at the Institut National du Patrimoine.
